Chapter 40:Who Was That Man
(Scarlett's POV)
Alexander's amber eyes burned with frustration as he closed the distance between us. His towering figure loomed, blocking my view of anything else in the room. His voice, low and biting, matched the unease now settling in my chest.
“You left no room for doubt, Scarlett.” He barely breathed the words, his tone laced with something raw and accusatory. “Who was that man the other day? The one with you in your home. Don’t think I’ve forgotten.”
I crossed my arms, steadying my expression. “Why are we still on this, Alexander? I thought you just made it painfully clear you weren’t interested in me.”
His jaw ticked, his wolf stirring beneath his skin. “That doesn’t answer my question, does it? You haven’t denied it either. Are you confirming it? Do you really have no ties left to me or this pack?”
