Chapter 7:Confrontation
(Scarlett's POV)
Alexander's words hung in the air between us, sharp and venomous. "No man would ever want you as a mate again. Not after today."
Something snapped inside me. His words weren't just cruel—they were hauntingly familiar. My mind flashed back to three years ago, standing in the Thorn Pack house, tears streaming down my face as I packed my belongings.
"No one will ever want you as a mate." That woman's voice, filled with mockery as she watched me preparing to leave Roman. The same words, the same contemptuous tone.
White-hot rage flooded through me. Before I could think, my hand shot out and grabbed Alexander's wrist. I squeezed hard enough that I felt the bones grind together.
"You don't know anything about me," I snarled, my voice barely recognizable.
Cora's power surged through me unrestrained, and I felt rather than saw Alexander's shock as the wave of my anger hit him. His eyes widened, pupils dilating with a mixture of pain and something else—fear.
