Chapter 121
Sarah's POV
He didn't even turn around. "It's none of your business."
His long legs carried him swiftly out of the room.
The door clicked shut, and I sat back down at the table, my fork absently prodding the fried egg on my plate. Did he really dislike me that much?
Alexander's appetite had always been modest, and mine was even smaller.
Of the twenty or so breakfast items laid out, we'd barely touched two or three dishes.
Everything else remained untouched, a wasteful display of abundance.
Damn capitalist extravagance!
I silently scolded him for his lifelong habit of luxury that clearly hadn't changed one bit.
The chair across from me sat empty. Without Alexander, how boring everything felt.
After just a few minutes, the door opened again.
"Alexander!!" I looked up excitedly, his name escaping my lips before I could stop myself. When I realized who had actually entered, my smile instantly transformed into an awkward grimace.
