"What would you have had me say?" I asked quietly. "'Hello, I'm your long-lost mate who you've completely forgotten'? Would you have believed me, or had me committed?"
"You should have tried!" he roared, his control slipping. "Instead of playing these games, pretending to be human, letting me think—"
"Letting you think what?" I challenged, my own temper flaring. "Our bond is severed, Alexander. And you have a fiancée. How could I possibly interfere in your life again?"
He ran a hand through his dark hair, frustration evident in every line of his body. "You're right," he admitted hoarsely.
"Tell me everything," he commanded, stepping closer. "No more secrets, Summer. I need to know what was taken from me."
