Katelyn's POV
It started early in the morning.
The entrance to Forbes Magazine was swarmed with reporters, cameras flashing, microphones pushed forward, voices overlapping in chaotic shouts.
"Katelyn, is it true you fabricated a story against Harland?"
"Scarlett claims she lost her job because of you! Do you have a response?"
"Are you responsible for the scandal with Isis?"
I took a deep breath, keeping my posture straight. I had dealt with the media before, but today, something felt different. I didn't feel like engaging with them until I had a clear picture.
Then I saw her.
Scarlett.
She pushed through the crowd effortlessly, dressed immaculately, her red lips curved into a twisted smirk. I didn't even have time to process before-
SPLASH!
Ice-cold water hit my face.
A collective gasp rippled through the reporters. Some cameras zoomed in, some clicked furiously, capturing every second. My blouse clung to my skin, drenched, my hair dripping.
