CHAPTER 4: DAWN LIVIDITY

ROSE'S POV "Rose, come downstairs. Now!" Eric barked like a wild dog. I wondered what had caused him to be so crazy. "Rose!" He continued screaming as he headed to the stairs. "What now?" I answered, traipsing towards him. Eric quickly walked to me. He grabbed my arm and marched down. Right in the living room, he let go of my hands. His force shoved me backwards. However, I was able to keep my balance. "What's wrong with you, huh?" Eric snarled, shifting closer to me. "I've always known you were crazy. But I didn't know you were going to be this crazy!" "Can you just calm down and tell me what's going on?" I told him. "Calm down?" He barked. "That's not happening at any moment! But I will tell you what's going on." Eric's thunderous voice drew everyone's attention. The maids had gathered all over the living room. As well as some of Eric's relatives who were still living in his mansion. I couldn't help but wonder the reason for this preposterous action. Eric's rage continued. "You've gone too far in this silly game of yours. But enough is enough! I've had enough of you!" "What's going on, Eric?" Eric's uncle, Frank asked. "Why are you shouting so early in the morning?" "Why don't you ask this good-for-nothing lady standing right here?" Eric pointed his finger at me. "What did she do?" Frank asked. Probably trying to lull the situation.   "I'll tell you what she did, alright! But before that." Eric walked to one of the drivers. He stretched his hand out to him. The driver immediately gave Eric some papers. Eric walked to me. He flaunted the papers in my face. "Isn't this what you want? You want a divorce, right?" He angrily opened the papers, and swiftly signed them with a pen. Indeed, those were the divorce papers. "Now take it and sign it!" He handed me the papers, along with the pen. I looked at him for seconds. Absolutely not pleased with the scene he was creating at the moment. "Aren't you going to sign that?" He snapped. "Don't make me lose it on you.  "I think you already did," I told him. Immediately, I signed the papers. "I hope you are happy now." He pressed on with his foaming tone. I handed him back the divorce papers without uttering a single word. He hit it from my hands, and the papers landed on the floor, along with the pen. Eric seized my hand incontinently. "Now tell me. What is this nonsense that you did?  "What did I do?" I asked him, really confused around here. "You had to post those pictures overnight, didn't you?" "What pictures?" My confused cast was still on. I looked at Tasha. She, too, was as pixilated as I was. But, of course, there was a hint right there. I think I know what this man's talking about. "You are seriously asking me that?" Eric forcefully let go of my hand. He was really frustrated. I even felt sorry for him. But I still needed to know why he was roaring like a dinosaur His hand went straight from his hair, down to his face, down to his pocket. He brought his phone out. "So, you still don't know what I'm talking about." His tone softened. I shrugged in response. I literally had no idea. But my mind was telling me something. I needed to vindicate. "You've become so poisonous all these years." He wore a disapproving look.   "If I have, it's all because of you." I defended. Eric gave me a baleful stare. I looked him back in the eyes. Catatonic expression. I wasn't going to start crying or something He averted his gaze at once. His eyes went to his phone. I looked at the faces of everyone present. All panting after this. Helena and I exchanged a glance of disgust. I had to turn my face away. "Look at this!" Eric stretched his phone over to my face. "Now, care to explain this?" "I'm sorry, I can't see anything," I told him. His phone's screen was blank. Eric took his phone back to him, scrutinizing it. He let out a muted growl, turning his phone back on. "Now take a look!" He stretched his phone toward me for the second time. In surprise, I carefully took the phone from his hand. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was a photo of him and Tasha. Oh, intimate photos of the both of them! Posted all over the Internet. "I know you're the one responsible for this." He blamed me. "Or are you going to start coming up with lies?" I looked at him for about five seconds, trying to find the perfect comeback. This was definitely not carried out by me. But I should be singing praises to whoever did it, right? "I'm asking you a question!" He shouted. I trembled immediately, in shock. "Aren't you going to give me an answer?" "What if I was the one? What will you do?" I asked him. "So, that means it's you, right?" Eric quizzed instantly. "No," I replied without hesitation. "It wasn't me." "That's a lie!" He screamed, flinging his phone to the floor. It went in Tasha's direction. She slowly picked it up. "I know it's you, alright. You're the only one who has possession of all these photos." I cleared my throat, gesturing toward Tasha. I was convinced he understood that indication.   Tasha gasped the moment she took a look at the screen of Eric's phone. Helena moved closer to look as well. All the maids wanted to see the pictures too. But Eric, aggravated by all this, yelled at them not to move. His eyes went back to me. "You better start explaining yourself." "I have nothing to say to you. I'm leaving."   He snared my arm the moment I was about to disappear from his presence. We both glared at each other. I narrowed my eyes down to his grip. "You better let go of me, Eric." "No, not until you tell me the truth." "The truth?" I shook my head, feeling malcontent. "I can't believe this, Eric. Even after being in a relationship with me for a long time, you'll still go this far to tell me nonsense? You and I both know that I don't lie when it comes to things concerning you. Things concerning us." "You can't actually know someone's true intentions, Rose." He let go of my arm. "You never know their true colors. But today, you have finally revealed to me who you are." "That's rich. Coming from the man who literally left me for another woman, the moment he became substantial," I retorted. "I still can't believe that, Eric. It's just so unimaginable." "Oh, shut up!" Helena snapped. I turned to her with a glare. But I had to ignore her nonsense. My eyes were settled back on Eric. "Believe me, Eric. I didn't do it. I know I hate Tasha. But trust me, I didn't." "I can't trust you, Rose," he whispered, looking into my eyes. "I don't know you any more." "Same thing here," I whispered as well. "The moment we both got married, you changed. And I didn't even know you any more."
