Chapter 6
One kidnapper pocketed my necklace and strode out, slamming the flimsy door behind him.
Curled in the corner, one thought screamed in my mind: Don't come, Griffin. Please, don't come.
But fate is bitterly ironic.
The first to find me wasn't Griffin. It was Michael.
When the door was violently kicked open, the blinding light framed a familiar silhouette.
Michael's gaze swept over my injuries. His pupils dilated. The next second, he lunged like a rabid beast at the kidnapper, a powerful kick sending the man crashing to his knees.
"Who gave you permission to touch her?" Michael's voice was terrifyingly low, a tone I'd never heard before.
He hauled the kidnapper up by his collar. The sickening thud of his fist connecting with the man's face echoed in the cabin.
I stared numbly until a horrifying realization froze me: Michael knew this kidnapper!
They didn't question each other's identity.
My breath hitched. A nauseating suspicion formed in my mind.
