Chapter 118
ELORA'S POV
After letting Lucas know why I had to leave, I told Lucian to go home and I'd meet him there. We both knew it was better that way. We couldn't afford to be seen driving into his mansion together—not after years of him insisting our marriage stay as a secret.
By the time I wrapped up at work, the sun was already settling behind the city skyline. I packed my things slowly, trying not to let my mind wander to all the reasons I didn't want to visit in the first place. My heart was heavy and the silence in the car didn't help as I drove to his mansion.
Twenty minutes later, I pulled into the long driveway of Lucian’s mansion. The lights from the massive windows spilled across the gravel as I parked and stepped out.
I stepped inside and found Evelyn cleaning up in the living room. The moment she saw me, she paused and said, “Luna, I tried calling you but you weren't picking up.”
I ignored the comment and asked, “Where’s Nora?”
“Nora’s upstairs in her room with her father.”
