ELORA'S POV
My breath caught halfway in my throat, because my brain needed a moment, an actual moment, to accept what I'm seeing. Lucas, here. In Ashtridge, walking towards me with a look that made my stomach twist and my heart kick against my ribs like it wanted to escape.
He wasn't supposed to be here. He had no reason to be here.
But he was.
Lucian straightened beside me, his glare shifting from me to the man moving toward me like he owned the ground he walked on.
How the hell did he know where I was? He had no reason to be here.

Lucas stopped right in front of me, his chest rising and falling a little too fast. “Elora,” he said, his voice low but firm, controlled in the way it only got when he was worried, really worried. “Are you okay?”
