Chapter 177
ELORA’S POV
After so much push from Aiden, and endless complaints from Selene over the phone, I finally gave in.
I couldn’t stay in the hospital anymore. Not because I didn’t want to, but because my body was starting to give up on me. My head throbbed constantly, my hands shook, and every time I blinked, I saw Lucian lying there, motionless, with the tubes all over him.
So I stepped out of the room.
Aiden was seated by the corner of the hallway with his back against the wall, head slightly bowed like he’d been keeping watch even outside Lucian’s room. The moment he saw me, he stood up.
“Do you need something?” he asked immediately.
“No. I…I need to go home.”
He blinked. “Can you repeat that?”
I rolled my eyes weakly. “I know you heard me the first time, Aiden.”
The corner of his lips lifted. “It wouldn’t hurt you to repeat a few words, Elora.”
I sighed. “I said, I'm going home.”
He smiled. “Very well, then.” He stretched out his hand. “Your keys.”
I frowned. “What?”
