Sydney's POV
His fingers intertwined with mine as we strolled through the park.Each of us was lost in our own thoughts, basking in the tranquility that only night brings to our kind. Aria's anxiety had eased, gradually growing accustomed to Lucas' presence. After all these years apart, her wariness toward him was only natural.
A glow appeared ahead where a small crowd had gathered. I narrowed my eyes, my wolf's enhanced vision picking up details in the darkness."Is that a truck?" I murmured, stealing a glance at Lucas who was also focused on the gathering.
"I think so," he replied with a slight shrug, his pine and rain scent shifting subtly with curiosity.
As we got closer, it got clearer and I could not have stopped myself even if I wanted to as I screamed, "Ice cream!" I pointed at it and turned to Lucas who was now smiling.
"Come on," I untangled my fingers from his. "Let's get some!"
