Nicole Ten o'clock in the evening. When we finally reached our home—I was exhausted. The emotional roller coaster of the evening had drained me completely. "I'm going to take a bath," I murmured, already heading for the stairs. Damien nodded, his black eyes unreadable as he loosened his tie. "I'll be in the study." I sank into the warm water, letting it wash away the tension of the day. The lavender bath oils filled the air with a soothing scent, and I closed my eyes in momentary bliss. My phone rested on the marble ledge beside me, and I sent quick texts to both Dodie and Weslee to make sure they'd gotten home safely. Dodie replied with a string of happy emojis that made me smile. At least someone's night was going perfectly. After my bath, wrapped in a plush robe that felt like a cloud against my skin, I hesitated outside Damien's study.
