Well, so much for girls’ night.
I stared at Damien’s message, a wave of irritation bubbling beneath a reluctant sigh.
All I could bring myself to reply with was a half-hearted “okay” and a defeated emoji.
So much for a quiet, drama-free evening.
I looked out the window at my three friends playing with Meatball in the garden.
Dodie, heavily pregnant, couldn’t help with dinner.
Scarlett, despite her incredible desserts, was infamous for her cooking mishaps—the last time she attempted pasta, we ended up ordering pizza.
That left only Weslee and me to cook for hungry werewolves.
I walked outside to break the news, watching their faces fall as I explained.
"Well, there goes our peaceful evening," Dodie said, rubbing her baby bump.
Weslee's eyes gleamed with unexpected enthusiasm. "I don't mind. I haven't cooked for a big group in ages."
"Let's plan this properly," I said, already mentally calculating portions. "We need at least twelve dishes to feed this many wolves."
