Chapter 104
Klaus sat at his desk, pushing aside thoughts of Megan and Joyce's blackmail attempts. Their petty demands were annoying rather than a real threat—money was the easiest problem to solve.
On the drive home to Operose, Klaus felt the stress from work slowly fade away. With each mile closer to Georgina, he felt lighter. The cottage came into view just as the evening sun was setting, casting a warm glow over their home.
The moment he stepped inside, the smell of roasted chicken and herbs hit him. The small dining table was set with their best dishes, candles already lit. Georgina came out of the kitchen wearing an apron over her simple dress, her face brightening when she saw him.
"You're home!" she said, rushing over to wrap her arms around his neck.
Klaus breathed in Georgina's scent that drove his wolf crazy.
"I missed you," he whispered against her hair, pulling her closer.
"I missed you more," she replied, kissing his jaw. "I made your favorite—herb-roasted chicken with those potatoes
