Chapter 12 An Ambush
Aurora's POV
This was the first gift I had received in all 19 years of my life. Even though I had no idea who gifted it to me, I decided to treasure it.
"You look beautiful today, especially with that necklace."
The moment I entered the dining hall, Ivan greeted me with praise.
I smiled, ready to thank him. But the words caught in my throat the moment I noticed the elegant figure seated inside.
Upon seeing Silas, the memory of last night hit me at once. I felt the burning humiliation of being rejected after offering myself willingly, and my cheerful mood vanished instantly.
"Ms. Snow, perhaps you could join Lord Redthorn for breakfast," Ivan suggested gently, clearly noticing my hesitation.
I told myself that I should do as Ivan suggested. A small defeat meant nothing. Silas was my only ticket to getting out of my sorry state. I had to do everything I could to earn that chance.
