Alice was still a bit out of it, her head foggy from the accident. It wasn’t until he brought it up that she remembered—it was Friday, and he had mentioned coming to file for divorce too. She just hadn’t expected to bump into him here of all places.
Now she had no clue how to react. Smiling felt wrong, but standing there awkwardly didn’t feel right either.
So yeah... super awkward.
He didn’t seem bothered one bit though. "So, you here to get divorced too?"
Alice’s eyes widened, staring at him in shock.
Edward had his usual emotionless look, those dark eyes of his like a pool you couldn’t see the bottom of. "People only come here for two things—marriage or divorce."
