Chapter 49
Once we arrived at the correct hospital, a frantic Thea bolted out of my car, immediately sprinting into the building. I worriedly followed her, keeping up with her fast pace. We both bolted to the front office, another redhead meeting us there.
She had similar features as Thea such as identical hair and face shape, but other than that, almost polar opposites. Still running, Thea approached her in a gigantic hug, almost knocking the girl over. They both seemed in shock and by the way their backs trembled, I could tell they were crying.
I approached them slowly, not wanting to intrude on their moment.
"They said she had time," Thea said quietly, holding her by the arms as the few remaining tears on her face began to dry.
"The chemotherapy stopped working," The girl solemnly responded, "She doesn't have much time left." At this a few more tears began to stream down her face.
"No, no, no," She muttered, "This can't be happen
