A week had passed since the incident under Kaelos's desk, and we had managed to keep a safe distance from Callista. At least, that's what we thought.
The Starbucks café on the corner of Washington Avenue was always crowded at lunchtime, with the strong aroma of coffee mingling with the voices of young Seattle executives.
The three of us were sitting at a corner table near the large window facing the street, with Callista sitting across from Kaelos and me.
“So Director Harrison really approved the female soldier training program,” Callista said, cutting into her club sandwich. “He said it could be a pilot project for other divisions.”
