#Chapter 224: Want vs. Need

Karl I watch the screen of my phone go dark as Abby abruptly hangs up. My worry for her is only intensifying as time goes on, but I know I can’t rush to the city right now. I have a meeting scheduled to hire my election manager in ten minutes, and as much as I want to be by Abby’s side, I have to prioritize my responsibilities. I sigh, hoping that she’ll be okay on her own for a little while. All I can hope for now is that she’s okay, and that she’ll call back soon. Turning my attention back to the conference room, I sit down at the head of the long table, ready to conduct more interviews. The potential candidates for the position of my election manager are all gathered here for their second round of interviews, waiting in the other room, and I have to make a crucial decision today.
