Inside the room, Lucian's jaw was clenched. His patience had worn thin. He wanted to shake Judy, to make her understand that Anna wasn't a replacement—she was the woman who truly mattered to him. And tonight, he planned to propose to her, shattering Judy's illusions once and for all.
"Don't flatter yourself," he hissed, stepping closer, his voice dangerously low. "You mean nothing to me."
Judy tilted her head, studying him. "Oh? Then what's with this grand proposal? The woman you're so desperately showing off? Are you truly in love with her, Lucian? Or is she just a pathetic attempt to prove something to me? You sought her out because she resembles me. If you really wanted to move on, why did you choose someone who looks just like me?"
