As I reached the hospital, I made my way to the doctor's office with anxious steps, needing to confirm the news for myself. "Doctor, are you really discharging my mother?" I asked urgently, unable to understand why he was sending her home. My mother was still weak. She needed proper care, and staying at the hospital seemed best for her. "Yes, Miss Anna," he replied in a polite but firm tone. "Her condition has stabilized, so she can go home. Besides, the longer she stays, the higher the bill will climb—and you still haven't settled the full payment. The hospital management won't allow her to remain unless her dues are cleared. Also, without payment, we won't be able to admit her again in the future." I swallowed hard and gave a slight nod. "I understand. I'll handle the payment. Please go ahead with the discharge process. Thank you." Leaving the doctor's office, a thousand thoughts flooded my mind at once. The pressure weighed on me, but I reminded myself I had just received my salary.
