This Is Unbelieveable

Selara  The room went quiet, and everyone, including my parents, who were now present in the courtroom. Prince Draven hadn’t said a word about any girl since the ceremony started, and here he was staring daggers at me. My world froze as a myriad of emotions coursed throw my veins. His gaze intense and his intentions clear, it was me he was talking about. “Well, that's settled,” Madam Webb said in a trembling tone. My eyes wandered in the courtroom. Everyone, including the Alpha of my pack, stared at me with pity in his eyes, while others whispered to themselves, obviously in appreciation that it wasn’t their daughters who were chosen.  After what seemed like forever, I was huddled up by a bunch of security guards who led me to a waiting room where I would be assessed by the prince himself. I was having a panic attack, having to pace back and forth, and my knees started hurting. I took a seat and then stood up again. Why me? What does he see in me? What did I do wrong? Could I be less unfortunate? So many questions buzzed in my mind, but it did so little to quench my sadness. The sting on my right leg began to ache again. I took my seat, raising my gown as I assessed the bruised knees. The bandages needed to be removed, and the sore needs to be cleaned. I decided to do justice to it by untying it when I heard footsteps approaching me. There were multiple, and I didn’t need anyone to tell me who it was. I held my breath almost immediately while hurrying to retie the bandage. Just then, he opened the door, and I jolted to my knees. Desperate to close the bruise. But there he was again, staring at my legs. “I am sorry, Prince Draven.” I fell to my knees, the contact on the floor and the pain it caused had me squirming and shoving my fingers into the wooden board. “My bruises are healing, it’s not infected, just a cut,” I muttered in a shaky tone.  “Standup.” He commanded. His tone is deep. And impatient. Causing me to stand to my feet, pushing myself up, I steadied myself with my eyes lowered to the ground. He walked over to a chair nearby, taking his seat. I feel his intense gaze on me. As he crossed his legs, he regarded me intently. I held m,y breath. Not wanting to do anything to piss him off. “Raise your head. Look at me.”  He commanded. Shakily, I moved my head, staring directly at him. He had his fingers knotted on his widely spread knees as he rested his head, like he was holding a glass with his gaze, I could almost quench before him. “You have a beautiful birthmark.”  “Th..thank you, Prince Draven,” I whispered, his brows furrowed again.  What did I do? It’s like walking on eggshells here with him. “Are you holding your breath?” “What, what no, yes!” I exhaled  “Why?” He asked again. What does he mean by why? Can he see himself? Everyone holds their breath around him. He was the son of the most famous Alpha. Not only that, his reputation doesn’t do me justice, he was a warlord, a dangerous man, and the most hard to admit he looks so god damn fine. Everyone would be insecure around him.  “I don’t want to breathe wrong.” The moment it escaped my lips, I closed my mouth with my palm immediately, stopping myself from spewing nonsense. I was nervous, I heard he kills for pleasure, he could put a dagger to my throat and then no one would say anything. His eyes popped like he was surprised.  “Breath wrong?” he questioned. His brows furrowed in a frown That moment, I wanted to fall on my knees and beg! Beg that he takes compassion on me. If not for me, but for my parents. “I am sorry. I didn’t mean to, I just.” “It’s fine. Look at me.” he commanded again, this time, my palms were already sweaty and I was just a second away from falling to the floor. I stared into his dark eyes. Just like he commanded. “You don’t have to be afraid of me. If you will be my breeder, you would need to be courageous, like a wolf, and not a scared kitten is that clear?” He said. I nodded for dear life. “Now thats perfect.” he stood up from his sit, walking toward me, I subconsciously stepped backward, but he closed the gap between us, I lowered my head again, intimidated by his presence when he held my chin with his hands, pulling my face up to meet him, his thumb tenderly caressing my chin. My mouth ran dry. If I hadn’t heard the rumours around him, I would have mistaken this flicker in his eyes to be something soft. Calming, sexual, but I could not allow myself be decieved, his eyes lowered to my lips as he brushed his fingers around then. I bit them holding them from quivering. His other hand brushes my hair from my face, and this time around, I couldn’t hold myself when I cowered as emotions flooded my body, but he doesn’t stop, he brushes the rest of my hair away from my face then held then behind in just a single fist. I am still stuck looking at this god of a man when I see him unhook his hair which falls like a stream over his shoulders. He uses the pin to hook my hair in place. His scent eludes me and charms my senses. I had never smelled something so intense yet calming.  I had feared I would burn if he came closer to me, but here I was subconsciously leaning into his body, and just when my heart rate had reduced, he stepped back. “You look perfect with your hair away from your face.” He said. His comment brought me back to my senses. “Th…Thank you, prince.” “Just Draven.”    “Thank you, Draven.” It felt like a sin just saying his name. “Is there anything you would like to tell me, like passed partners, a mate, your addictions, hobbies, and maybe allergies, if you have to be with me, as a breeder, I would like to know about you.” It was an honour to be of interest to him, normally, breeders were just bed warmers.  “Nothing. I don’t have allergies that I know of.” “Have you ever been in love?” He fires back. I scoffed, loving it not for the poor. Love is for people who have the luxury. “No.” “Have you had sex with anyone? “ “No,” I said again. He nodded, then stepped backward. “How much is your dowry?” I thought he knew how much it was, so why was he asking me? “Hundred thousand dollars,” I said. “I will give your parents a million and place them on an allowance. A daughter is worth more than that.” “What!!?” “Get your things in order, the car is ready, your personal maid will be here to get you prepared, the weather is bad, I don’t like traveling into the wind.” That was the last thing he said before walking out. Did he just say he was going to give my parents a million dollars and keep them under an allowance?  Wow. I couldn’t believe my ears.
