Alexander stood still for a beat, eyes flicking between Eira and Sophia.
Who should he save first?
Eira was hanging from a beam, her lower belly aching faintly, sweat streaking across her pale face.
But Sophia's condition seemed even worse-blood was still trickling from the wound on her wrist, dripping onto the floor nonstop.
"Well, Mr. Brooks, have you made up your mind yet?" Liam twirled the stick in his hand, smirking slightly.
Alexander shifted his gaze and took a step forward, tone firm. "Let them go. I'll take their place."
Liam snorted, pressing the stick tighter against Sophia's waist. His grip tightened around the remote. "Nice try, but I'm not that dumb. You've got three seconds or they both die."

Sophia shook her head at him, her voice dry and broken, "Alex, don't listen to him. Just take Eira and go. My hand's destroyed, my life's ruined anyway. Let Liam..."
