Lisa's POV
The silence that followed made it obvious they weren't expecting the words that had just come out of my mouth.
Maybe I shouldn't have said it.
But when you're staring down the sharp edge of death, survival wasn't a choice,it was instinct. I wasn't trying to be brave. I was trying not to bleed out like an animal, and if that meant throwing Aisha under the bus, then so be it. I would have betrayed God himself if it bought me one more breath.
My eyes flicked from Jack to Brayden, then to Marcus.
Of the three of them, Marcus looked the most shocked. His lips parted slightly like he couldn't believe I had gone there, like he didn't think I had it in me. Maybe he thought I had break before I snapped. He would be wrong.
I hadn't planned on revealing Aisha's secret, but I hadn't planned on being cornered with a blade against my ribs either.
Aisha was the White Wolf.
She's been hiding it. Terrified of what it might mean for her, of what it might turn her into. But Jack wanted power.
