Aisha's POV
"I don't belong to you," I shot back.
But it was useless.
With a single twist of his wrist, there was a sharp crack.
Lisa went limp.
For a heartbeat, the only sound in the room was the rattling of my own breath.
Her body hit the ground with a dull thud.
I stared at her who had been my shadow once, whose envy had burned so hot that it had consumed her in the end.
And all I could think was that the cell had just become quieter. Too quiet.
Brayden released her and turned his gaze on me.
"She's gone," he said.
The way he looked at me made the air thick, like the walls themselves were closing in.
And that was when I realized:
Lisa had just been a spark.
Now the fire was going to burn.
The silence after Lisa's body fell was so deep that I could hear my heartbeat hammering in my ears. Brayden didn't even blink. He just stood there, staring at me as though nothing else in the room existed.
