Aisha's POV
When the ceremony ended and the guests began to circle around the couple, Simon made his move. He stepped into Thomas's path, all casual authority and sharp gaze. I followed, mostly because I wasn't sure if Simon intended to intimidate him or congratulate him.
Thomas straightened the moment Simon approached. "Alpha," he said, respectful, but not afraid.
Simon nodded. "That was a moving vow."
"Thank you."
Then, Simon's tone sharpened, just slightly. "I expect you to take care of her. Not just in peace. But in chaos. When it's hard. When it's terrifying."
I watched as he extended his hand toward Thomas, who paused before accepting it.
"Emma's my family," Simon said. "You hurt her, you answer to me."
Thomas nodded, his expression solemn. "I would die before I let her be hurt again."
Simon studied him for a moment, then finally nodded. "Good."
It was the closest thing to a blessing Simon could give. When he turned back to me, something in his shoulders had relaxed.
