Chapter 19
Jeffery's excitement lingered long after he received my message. He thought I was extending an olive branch to apologize and patch things up.
But the frustration of the past few days was still a bitter pill he couldn't swallow, so he deliberately waited half an hour before deigning to reply.
"Address."
One minute passed. Two. Then ten.
No reply came through.
He figured his phone was glitching and not receiving messages. He paced around the room, checking the signal. When both the reception and the phone turned out to be fine, his expression darkened.
"What's Sienna playing at?" he thought with a frown. "She messaged me, then ghosted me? Is she trying to play hard to get?"
With that, he scoffed and muted me without a second thought.
He despised women who played mind games. He'd always seen me as down-to-earth and never expected me to push my luck. When I did, he'd make sure to teach me a lesson.
