Chapter 17
I looked away at my annoyingly- short nails and picked at them. "Nope." Zayne growled loudly and stood up directly infront of me. "Look me in the eyes and say that."
I looked up and met his eyes, suddenly all of my confidence I ever had vanished and I sighed. "I can't." Zayne smirked. "And why might that be?"
"Because I lo-" I was cut off by a knock at the door. "Excuse me? Is there a dog in there?" An elderly lady asked, un-locking the door. I gave Zayne a alarmed look and he shot back under the cover and held me tightly to his chest, acting as if he had just woke up.
The old lady walked in with a can of spray and a mop in her left hand, using it as a defence. She looked relieved when she saw us cuddled up together and sighed, blushing slightly. "Oh, sorry folks. I'm cleaning all the rooms and I heard a growl and I thought there might be a dog there or something..." She trailed off and I shook my head. "Nope, nothing here."
She nodde
