Chapter 67 The Funeral
Did Elijah want to watch Anna make a fool of herself?
Perhaps, in his eyes, Anna was merely a pastime—a stark contrast to the woman he truly adored.
Once Giselle realized this, everything that had happened made sense.
Without another glance at them, she went straight to her room.
After she was gone, Elijah finally let go of Anna.
"Go do your own thing. I have a lot of work to get through, so I'll sleep in the study tonight."
With that, he walked past Anna and went straight upstairs.
As she watched his retreating figure, Anna gritted her teeth in frustration but didn't dare to say anything.
She scowled, heading to where Giselle was.
Anna instantly became wary when she noticed Giselle was on the phone, chatting with someone.
She fixed her gaze firmly on Giselle. "Who are you talking to?"
Giselle gave her an exasperated look. "Who else would I be talking to? Do you think it's Elijah?"
"You—"
Anna froze for a moment, then her gaze turned sharp and threatening.
Glaring at Gise
