Chapter 21
Reagan listened in silence, his expression settling into a calm stillness as the report went on. When the call ended, he quietly set the phone aside and opened the wooden box again.
Lifting out the bracelet, he looked at it with a calm, reverent gaze. "Paige, will you?"
Paige decided he must have lost his mind. She gave a short, cold laugh and walked away without another word.
Only then did he realize she had finished everything on the table. Every dish was gone—except for the 20 plump shrimp. She hadn't touched a single one.
She used to love shrimp.

Meanwhile, Reagan's phone wouldn't stop ringing. He finally switched it off, but it wasn't long before people from the company tracked him down and pulled him away.
"Mr. Lancaster, you owe us an explanation. You're risking the entire future of Lancaster Group just to win Paige over. Have you even thought about the thousands of employees who depend on this company?"
One after another, they rounded on Reagan, their anger so intens
