“Young lady, don’t be too shy! And your boyfriend, don’t just stand there like a statue! Bring her to the party!” The middle-aged woman’s enthusiastic pull left no room for refusal, her warm grin as inviting as the scent of fresh pine in the air.
Caught in the momentum of her excitement, Aldrich and I exchanged amused glances before trailing behind her. The narrow, snowy path wound down to a small house nestled near the foot of the mountain.
