The day began with an unwelcome flurry of snow, blanketing the ruins of the witch clan. Although snow was an ever-present feature in this region, making it easy to adapt to, I couldn’t say I relished lying on the freezing ground for hours on end.
It was during this long, frigid morning that I truly grasped the essence of “stalking.” The term, simple as it sounded, held layers of meaning. Stalking wasn’t just about following—it demanded patience, focus, and enduring discomfort. As the icy ground pressed against me, I realized just how challenging this mission was. The monotonous task of keeping an eye on a distant target was draining, but the biting cold and stagnant air were the real challenges.
“Can you manage a little longer?” Eve’s soft voice broke my thoughts.
