The elven soldier’s face turned a deep shade of red as he glared at me, his teeth gritted in anger. “You werewolves are the ones who bite back!” he spat, his voice filled with venom.
“We?” I responded with a derisive laugh. “Tell me, in what way have we wronged you? Was it by rushing here overnight to offer our assistance? Or perhaps it was by dismantling the evil sacrificial array and purifying the malignant energy that plagued your city?”
“The attackers were stray werewolves from your pack! You can't deny your responsibility!” he retorted, his words laced with accusation.
“This is the most ridiculous claim I've heard all week,” I said, shaking my head in disbelief. “So, according to your logic, the entire werewolf race is culpable for the actions of a few stray wolves? By that reasoning, should the entire elf race be held accountable for the rogue rangers among you who commit assassinations and thefts against other races?”
