The orphanage held a tapestry of stories, each woven with threads of misfortune. The children who found themselves within its walls had suffered more than their share of pain. Some had never known their parents, their lives beginning in the shadow of loss. Others were abandoned in their early years, left to fend for themselves in a world they scarcely understood. Then there were those torn from their families due to circumstances beyond their control, their lives forever altered by tragedy.
It was not as though the packs were oblivious to these children’s plights. But resources in poorer packs were stretched thin, and aiding lost or orphaned children often fell low on their list of priorities. They saw no tangible benefit in expending time, money, and effort on such endeavors. Instead, these children were often handed over to orphanages, treated as though their stories had no weight, their lives no value.
