Chapter 1

Erika's POV I stood under a tree, my sharp eyes scanning all the soldiers on the field. A hundred strong warriors were fighting each other fiercely. Each one was using a weapon that I had designed for them. Yes, this was my gift. As a young girl who had just turned eighteen, I looked like the thinnest and weakest one on the training ground. However, if anyone took me lightly for that, they would pay dearly. Not only was I the Gamma of the Fly Rock Pack, a genius at fighting, but I was also the arsenal of this pack. I could summon any weapon I wanted effortlessly. As a Gamma, I was responsible for selecting soldiers and training them. I also divided them into different groups according to their abilities. I made weapons for the strongest warriors according to their strengths and weaknesses. I was very confident that each of these soldiers was strong enough to fight ten. That was why I made that seemingly reckless decision. Every soldier focused on knocking down the rival, and their attack and defense wer flawless. There was no need for supervision, so I put on my gloves and played with the whistle in my hand. My hands were my arsenal, so I usually wore gloves to protect my hands during non-combat hours. My whistle was used to issue orders. It may be hard to believe, but the talented warrior who became Gamma at the age of eighteen is dumb. It was a long story. The sun was about to set. I blew the whistle in my hand. At the sound, everyone stopped and then ran in front of me and stood in lines. I mind-linked them: "Are you guys ready? " "Yes!" "Do you know what you are going to face tomorrow night?" "Yes! " "Are you afraid?" "Not at all! " The deafening noise showed their high morale. At that moment, a dark-colored soldier stepped forward, raised his arms, and shouted "Victory belongs to Erika!" He was Orsen, the youngest yet strongest of my soldiers. "Victory belongs to Erika!" everyone repeated. Erika was my name. I looked at them and gave them an encouraging smile. I couldn't think of any reason to fail tomorrow's mission. One o'clock in the morning the next day. I was in my combat uniform, my eyes determined. A slaughter was about to begin. I opened the wardrobe to put the gloves in. However, I noticed a small hole in one glove. When did it happen? How come I didn't notice it? I suddenly had a bad feeling. "It doesn't matter, don't overthink. You can do it!" I thought to myself. After taking a deep breath, I opened the door and walked out. When I came to the training ground, the soldiers had already assembled. Even though it was early in the morning, they still looked very energetic. "Are your tasks clear?" "Yes!" They shouted. I divided them into three squads. One was led by Orsen and was responsible for quietly taking out all the guards. The second was led by me and was responsible for entering their pack house to teach them a lesson. The last one would wait outside for my orders and play it by ear. This was the plan for the sneak attack that I had been working on for two days. Recently, there have been a lot of problems with the Westford Pack on the border, posing a serious security threat to our pack. In order to solve this problem once and for all, I proposed a sneak attack to teach them a lesson. Of course, no one supported this decision. The pack leaders vigorously opposed it. I knew what they meant, they preferred to seek help from a stronger pack, which was the safest way. And the war came with tight finances. They didn't want to sacrifice luxury for the safety of their pack. "You're still too young for a Gamma" was their most common way to dissuade me, which I ignored. Only Alpha Charles and Beta Steve fully supported my decision. I would let them know that trusting me was the right decision with the news of a successful sneak attack. It was almost time. At that moment, I suddenly saw a sneaky figure at the back of the group, a guy was also wearing all black, but obviously not a combat uniform. What was going on? I frowned. Orsen noticed the suspicion in my eyes and looked back as well. I nodded at him. The next second, Orsen darted to the back of the group, pulled the man out, pulled him in front of the soldier, and kicked him hard. The man lost his balance and fell to the ground. I stepped forward and coldly removed his hat and mask, but he turned his back so we wouldn't see his face. "Who are you?" "Don't hit me! I'm not the enemy!" The man raised his hands to his head and begged us for mercy. Wait, why does the voice sound so familiar? I let Orsen fix his arms, then I lifted his face. Our eyes met and he was ... "Richard!" Orsen hurriedly released him, regretting his earlier rudeness. Richard was the son of an alpha, and in another year he would be the new alpha, but he was still childish and capricious. I just couldn't imagine what would happen to the pack later on when he became the alpha. I sighed, helping him up. I could probably guess why Richard was here. He was trying to sneak into our group and join this sneak attack plan. He was indeed strong and good at the fight, but he was too willful and didn't know how to obey, which decided that he wouldn't be a good soldier. He gave me a timid look, then closed his eyes, and asked with trembling voice, "Can I come with you guys?"
