Chapter 53
The next morning, when Tristan got up, Cassandra had already prepared breakfast.
When she saw him come out, she greeted him with a smile and said, "Come have breakfast. You drank a lot last night, so I made some chicken soup—it's gentle on the stomach."
Tristan smiled at her and replied, "Sorry for the trouble."
"It's not trouble at all," Cassandra said as she served him a bowl and placed it before him.
The soup looked smooth and thick. It must have been simmered for a long time. Tristan suddenly felt a wave of warmth in his heart. He sat down and began eating with his usual graceful manner.
Cassandra had also prepared some toast and fried some eggs to go with the soup.
Tristan ate heartily, which reassured Cassandra. After breakfast, he said, "Let the driver take you to the office later. I'm going on a business trip and will return in two or three days."
Cassandra was slightly surprised but quickly nodded and said, "It's alright. I can just get a taxi."
