ESCAPE
THIRD PERSON POV:
Hiram paces around Hu’s rehab room, his hands clenched into fists, jaw tight as Ginger’s last message replays in his mind. Hu sits still, trying to make out what his brother has just told him. He doesn’t want to believe Ginger’s father might have found her, and the thought of it keeps him mad.
“Tell me you are joking, please,” his voice is calm, but his fist is clenched, picturing Logan’s face from the picture he had seen on Ginger’s phone.
He would kill him on sight, and no one was going to stop him, not even Ginger. Hiram doesn’t confirm he is joking, so Hu slams his hands on the bed.
“We are working to get her…”
“Bullshit, Hiram. Bullshit!” he roars, getting to his feet.
“I need to leave,” Hu says suddenly, his voice cracking. “Hiram, I need to find her.”
“No.” Hiram doesn’t even turn to look at him. “You’re not stable enough, and her father is dangerous.”
