Chapter 1754 Is He Your Biological Son
A faint smile appeared on Jocelyn's youthful face before she turned to leave.
Tamara discussed Jocelyn's plan to study abroad with Alex, who had no objections. After all, Jocelyn was still a part of the Simmons family, and she would not be mistreated.
The room fell into silence. Tamara looked at Alex and couldn't help but ask, "Mom, do we need to inform Dad about this?"
Alex asked, "Do you want to talk to him?"
Tamara mumbled, "No, I'm just asking."
Jocelyn was still Jacob's granddaughter, and her decision to go abroad would likely require his approval.
Alex smiled softly. "If you want to tell him, go ahead. It's okay."
Tamara shrugged. Of course, it was okay. Jacob's mind was filled with thoughts of Alex. Whatever she said was okay for him. Why would he reject her request?
Tamara stood up. "I'll go and talk to Dad about it."
"Sure, go ahead." Alex nodded, lowering her gaze to continue trimming the flowers.
It was the evening. Tamara knocked on the door of the study. Jacob had returned home earlier, but he was busy in the study room. When he heard the knocking, he said, "Come in."
Tamara entered. "Dad."
Jacob glanced at her. His eyes and brows had already shown traces of aging, lending him a mature and distant demeanor. "What is it?"
His attitude toward her was extremely cold, but Tamara had become used to it. "Jocelyn told me today that she wants to study abroad."
Jacob's brows furrowed at this. "Why would she suddenly want to study abroad?"
Tamara replied honestly, "It's probably because of me. After all, I was the one who chased Quentin out of Londsville."
Jacob suddenly sneered. "At least you're self-aware."
Tamara spoke frankly, "Quentin was a threat to me, so I had to deal with him. But, Dad, there's something I've been curious about."
Jacob's brows furrowed further. "What is it?"
Tamara looked into his eyes calmly and asked a shocking question, "Is Quentin truly the child of both you and Mom?"
This question had been eating at her. How could parents be so indifferent to their children?
Alex was a gentle yet strong woman. She would never treat her son this coldly.
Jacob's expression darkened instantly, and he hissed, "You have some nerve, Tamara!"
Tamara blinked. "I was just curious."
"Get out!" Jacob's tone was even colder now.
Tamara shrugged and turned to leave.
After closing the door to the study, Jacob's tense expression crumbled, revealing the fatigue and conflict underneath it. He thought of Quentin and let out a sneer.
How could someone like him, who was brilliant and outstanding all his life, have such a useless son?
…
After leaving the study, Tamara saw Coral standing not far away, staring at her sinisterly.
Tamara remained composed and walked up to her. "You're still here?"
Quentin had been driven out of the Simmons family, yet Coral still had the audacity to stay here.
Coral gritted her teeth. "I am Mrs. Simmons, mother of Jocelyn Simmons. Why should I leave?"
Tamara smiled. "You can stay if you want. However, let me warn you. If you do anything foolish, your fate might be worse than Quentin's. Don't think I'm joking around. I am capable of keeping my promise."
With that, she walked past Coral.
