Chapter 567 Don’t Go Overboard
Margot was taken aback for a moment. She turned toward Tamara and asked, “What happened?”
Tamara did not try to hide what she had done. She recounted the humiliation she had purposely dealt Benjamin.
Margot blinked.
Kayla glared at the two women coldly. She wanted to see just how strong their friendship extended.
How could one forgive their friend for getting their man beaten up, after all?
A few seconds later, Kayla’s expression hardened.
Margot looked at Tamara with excitement. “Wow, Tammy, you’re so awesome! How many men were in that room? I don’t think there were enough of them. Gosh, it would’ve been great if there were at least 30 of them!”
Tamara’s eyes shone with amusement. “You want him to get beaten to death?”
“Well, no.” Margot swept a devious gaze over Benjamin. “It’d be best if he got paralyzed from the waist down. That way, no other woman would think to throw themselves at him anymore.”
Tamara was rendered silent.
She eyed Benjamin, who was standing stock still. He acted as if he hadn’t heard them speaking. The emotionless expression on his face did not falter.
Did this man have another plan brewing, or did he really lose all feelings for Margot?
Otherwise, why would he just stand back and take all their insults without fighting back?
Tamara suddenly realized that she didn’t understand the person Benjamin had become anymore.
He had been the one to initiate the divorce with Margot, yet he had allowed Tamara to humiliate him in public.
Furthermore, Margot was saying awful things about him at this moment, yet he did not seem affected at all. It was clear that he was allowing the beatings and humiliation to happen on purpose.
Did he think that his behavior would get Margot to calm down?
Tamara pushed her thoughts away, then said, “Well, even if he gets paralyzed waist down, I’m sure there’ll still be proactive women who wouldn’t mind doing all the work.”
Margot’s expression froze. “Tammy, stop talking. I’m getting grossed out.”
Tamara looked at her friend fondly. “Alright, I’ll stop.”
Kayla’s innocent face instantly darkened. However, she was still able to maintain her composure. She eyed Margot, then plastered herself against Benjamin’s body.
Her soft body went pliant as she stared up at him with innocent, angelic eyes. “You don’t look too good. Why don’t we stop by the hospital?”
Benjamin did not respond.
Kayla continued, “If you don’t get yourself checked at the hospital, I’ll be really worried. We’re going to be married soon, after all. I don’t want my husband to have any health problems.”
At the mention of marriage, Benjamin’s brows instantly furrowed. He turned to look at Kayla’s face.
Kayla shot him a faint smile and looked innocent. She appeared angelic, but her eyes glinted with an echo of threat.
Benjamin swallowed with difficulty. He could feel a fiery glare aimed at his back, burning him through.
A moment later, Benjamin replied with difficulty, “Okay.”
At this moment, the elevator doors opened.
Margot sprinted out right away. Her strides were quick, and she seemed eager to leave this place.
Tamara turned back to glare at Benjamin. “You’ll regret this.”
Then, she hurried after Margot.
Kayla hugged Benjamin’s arm. “Will you really regret it?”
Benjamin’s expression darkened significantly. He grabbed Kayla by the neck with red-rimmed eyes. “Don’t go overboard. If you do, I’ll drag you down to hell myself!”
Kayla was frightened by the man’s furious gaze. She tried to free her neck from Benjamin’s fingers and glared at him with furrowed brows. “Benjamin Inkling, don’t forget about our deal. If you dare go back on your word, I’ll make sure you get what’s coming. In fact, I’ll make sure Margot pays for it as well. You’ll all die!”
Benjamin’s breathing stopped. He put both hands down and clenched them into tight fists. He remained silent for a long while.
Even so, Kayla knew that this meant Benjamin had conceded once more.
“Let’s go to the hospital now. I don’t want to stare at that pale face of yours any longer. It’s ruining my mood!”
