Chapter 568 A Happy Coincidence
Tamara and Margot got into the car.
Tamara noticed the solemn expression on Margot’s face and hurriedly said, “Margot, don’t be like that. You know as well as I do that Kayla said all of that on purpose.”
“Of course, I know that.” Margot continued, “I’m a petty person. I’m going to look into Kayla’s background and think of a plan to screw her over for good!”
Tamara didn’t know how to respond.
That sounded like a pretty good idea, after all.
The car started, then they headed to the Moore manor.
It was already late at night.
There were security guards patrolling the compound inside. The maids in the villa were all resting.
Tamara and Margot walked inside, changed into slippers, then hurried up the stairs.
“Oh, finally back, are you?”
At this moment, a casual voice rang out.
Tamara and Margot were scared out of their wits. They hurriedly turned toward the source and found Joseph getting up from the sofa, smiling at them.
“It’s late. Are you guys hungry?”
Tamara glared at him with displeasure. “Joseph, why haven’t you gone to bed? God, you scared the life out of us!”
Joseph replied, “Sorry about that. I just thought of welcoming you guys home. It turns out that I managed to do that.”
He walked over and apologized to Tamara. Then, he eyed Margot and noticed that she looked a little frazzled. He asked without hesitation, “What’s up with you?”
Tamara interjected, “Joseph, you make the best noodles. Why don’t you make us some?”
He nodded. “Alright. Wait for me in the living room, then. I’ll be done in no time.”
Tamara and Margot turned away and sat on the sofa in the living room.
A moment later, Joseph’s voice rang out. “The noodles are done!”
“Come on, have a taste of Joseph’s cooking.” Tamara pulled Margot off the sofa.
Margot looked a little excited. “I didn’t expect a pampered man like him to know how to cook.”
Joseph seemed to have heard her. He looked at her and said, “Well, you’re wrong. My dad has been nothing but strict with us since we were young. It’s borderline hellish. I’ve known how to cook since I was a child.”
As he spoke, he placed the two bowls in front of the women.
Tamara took a bite with a fork. Suddenly, she noticed that there was lobster meat in Margot’s bowl. She glanced at Joseph and complained, “Joseph, you’re being unfair! Why did you give her lobster meat but not me?”
Joseph was momentarily stunned. He didn’t expect to be found out. He scratched his head and said, “Well…I just forgot. I’ll make you some right away.”
Margot couldn’t help herself from offering. “Gosh, here, I’ll give you mine. I can’t stand you looking so upset.”
Tamara stared at the lobster meat in her bowl, and a thought popped into her mind. She sighed inwardly, then started to dig in.
She thought it would be best if Margot remained oblivious. Otherwise, things would go pear-shaped.
Margot took a bite of the noodles and her eyes instantly lit up. “It tastes great!”
Joseph smiled confidently. “Of course, it does.”
Tamara was rendered speechless.
After they were done eating, the two women went upstairs and called it a day.
Once Tamara entered her room, she sent Joseph a text.
Tamara: “Joseph, have you forgotten what I said?”
Joseph: “What?”
Tamara: “You’d better rein your thoughts in. Margot just got divorced, and she’s still deeply engrossed with her ex. Don’t mess with her. You’ll only end up hurting yourself in the end.”
Joseph: “She just got divorced? What a happy coincidence!”
Tamara did not know how to respond.
Why didn’t her words get through to him?
Her phone buzzed, indicating that she had received another text.
Joseph: “Tammy, I’ll work hard to make sure she properly becomes part of the family. Once she and I marry, the two of you will never have to be apart!”
