Chapter 571 Regret Living
“Tammy, are you alright?”
When Jonathan saw the look on Tamara’s face, he asked with concern.
Elijah hurriedly followed up. “Tammy…”
Jonathan glared at him and yelled, “Shut up!”
Elijah choked and kept quiet.
Tamara shook her head. “I’m fine, Uncle Jon.”
Then, she glanced over at Elijah. “Where’s Anthony?”
There was a struggle of emotions in Elijah’s expression. He looked hesitant to answer the question.
Tamara glared angrily at him. “Tell me where Anthony is right now!”
Anthony had taken her son to God knew where, yet Elijah was still insistent on hiding the truth from her. How could he do this?
Elijah’s lips trembled. “Tammy, I’m sorry for everything I’ve done in the past. I shouldn’t have hurt you, nor should I have instructed Anthony to take Thomas from you. That was my initial plan. I planned all that out before I found out about your identity. I’ll call him right now. Can you…forgive me?”
“You’re such a fucking piece of shit!”
Jonathan couldn’t help himself from barking out. “How could you say something like that? Don’t you feel shameful at all? If I were you and found out that I’ve done such things to hurt my own child, I would’ve wished myself dead right away! I’d only hope that all my wrongdoings could be absolved once I’m gone. How dare you take this opportunity to exchange Tamara’s forgiveness with Anthony’s location? Not even the devil himself would be this despicable!”
Elijah suddenly felt ashamed and annoyed. Everything Jonathan said felt like a smack to his face.
However, he was desperate for Tamara’s forgiveness.
He didn’t know that Alex had ended up giving birth to their daughter.
It turned out that Alex truly did love him.
“You’re right. I’ll call him right now...”
When Elijah noticed Tamara’s gaze growing angrier and more hateful the longer she glared at him, he panicked. He was worried that Tamara would despise him even more than she did at this moment.
A maid handed him his phone. Once the call was made, Anthony picked up.
Jonathan rushed over and snatched the phone from Elijah. Then, he put the call on speaker.
“I’ve done what you asked. Tell me where she is now!” Anthony’s voice that was devoid of any warmth came through the phone.
Tamara shut her eyes in despair.
In this world, being betrayed by one’s closest, most trusted ally was the greatest pain of all.
Jonathan glared at Elijah coldly and mouthed, “Answer him!”
Elijah regained his composure. “Where did you take the kid?”
Anthony replied, “I need you to tell me her whereabouts first.”
Elijah faltered suddenly. He remained silent for a long while.
Jonathan panicked and hung up the phone in a hurry. “What did you threaten Anthony with? Who is he talking about?”
Tamara already knew the answer. She turned toward Elijah and asked, “Jocelyn isn’t dead? Did you hide her away too?”
It turned out that Anthony had been threatened.
Even though it was a valid reason, it was still difficult to accept his actions.
Elijah shut his eyes. “She’s dead. I lied to him. I showed him edited videos of the surveillance footage. That was the only way I could get him to do things for me.”
Tamara shuddered. She couldn’t bear to even look at Elijah.
Jonathan turned toward him and said, “I honestly have no more words to describe how despicable you are. Elijah Morrison, you’re really an exceptional evil. For the sake of revenge, I can’t believe how determined you are to wipe out an entire family. I’m warning you, if anything happens to Thomas, I’ll make sure you’ll regret living!”
With that, he looked at Tamara. “Tammy, let’s go.”
However, Tamara fixed her eyes on Elijah instead.
