Chapter 572 Nothing to Do With You
“Call Anthony back and tell him that I’ll bring Jocelyn to him. Set up a time and place.”
Jonathan was stunned. “Tammy, are you sure?”
Tamara’s eyelashes fluttered. “Just do as I say.”
With that, she left the Morrison manor.
Elijah’s frail body swayed unsteadily, and his face was filled with guilt. Even so, he managed to get his phone out and give Anthony a call. He did everything Tamara asked him to.
They set the meeting up in a suburban villa that was owned by the Morrison family.
Tamara and Jonathan got into one of the Morrison family’s cars along with the Moore family’s bodyguards.
They made their way to the suburban villa.
When they arrived, Anthony’s car was already parked at the villa’s entrance.
Elijah walked inside first.
Jonathan wanted to follow him but was stopped by Tamara. “Uncle Jon, hold on a minute.”
Tamara fixed her clear eyes on Anthony, who was getting out of his car. When the car door opened, she managed to catch a glimpse of Thomas in the backseat.
Thomas looked incredibly calm and not at all scared. Tamara calmed down when she saw him.
She rolled the windows down a little to create a small gap in order to hear what was being discussed outside.
“Where is she?”
Anthony glared at Elijah, his hands clenched into tight fists on both sides.
Elijah frowned. “Bring me the child first.”
Anthony did not move. “I don’t believe you. Show her to me first. Only then will I give the child to you.”
Tamara heard everything loud and clear. In that instant, she felt as though her heart would pop out of her chest.
Her eyelashes fluttered, and she bit her lip hard in order to maintain her composure.
At this moment, Elijah’s voice rang out. “Anthony, you don’t have the right to set the terms of our exchange. I don’t want to rough you up in front of the child. Just bring the kid to me and I promise you that I’ll let her go. Don’t forget about what you’ve done to get here. You’ll never be able to return to Tamara’s side after this.”
Hearing that, Anthony’s expression immediately darkened. It looked as if he was steadily frosting over, causing his entire aura to grow cold and gloomy.
“I don’t need you to worry about what lies ahead for me. I want to see her now!”
Elijah sneered. “Anthony Night, you’re really something.”
After that, he raised a hand, signaling his bodyguards to fight Anthony.
Not a moment later, a bodyguard took out a car key and tossed it to his comrade. The car door was immediately opened, and Thomas was rescued.
When Tamara saw him, she opened the car door and rushed out of it in a panic.
“Mommy, I’m alright.” That was the first thing Thomas said upon seeing Tamara.
Tamara hugged him. “Oh, Thomas, I’m so sorry. It’s all my fault.”
Thomas patted her arm. “Don’t blame yourself, Mommy. I’m honestly fine. Look, I don’t even have a scrape on me!” he said, then spun in front of her.
“Anthony didn’t hurt me, but he betrayed you, Mommy. I’m not going to forgive him for this,” Thomas said in a solemn tone.
Tamara held his hand in hers tightly.
At this moment, several bodyguards had managed to subdue Anthony. When Anthony looked up and saw Tamara, his eyes widened as his face paled.
“Miss Moore…”
“Anthony.” Tamara wiped the tears from her eyes and glanced at the man. There was no hint of warmth in her eyes as she said, “From the moment I found out you betrayed me, I wanted nothing to do with you.”
Wit that, she held Thomas’ hand in hers and got into a car.
Elijah suddenly said, “Tammy, I’m sorry… I threatened Anthony to do my bidding. This isn’t the only thing I made him do. There’s something else too…”
“Shut the fuck up!” Anthony roared out angrily.
