Chapter 577 Overcoming Difficulties

Tamara glared at Sebastian. “If you let me down, you won’t have to risk dropping me now, will you?” Sebastian’s thin lips curled into a smile. “We’re almost out. Tammy, just let me carry you.” Tamara’s expression froze. Her eyes twinkled, and she shifted her gaze. Upon leaving the hospital, the Moore family’s van could be seen parked at the main entrance. The van doors were wide open, and Joseph was waiting by the vehicle. Thomas, Caleb, and Melanie were in the van as well. Upon seeing her children, Tamara flushed red. She whispered in a panicked voice, “Let me down right now. The kids will see us!” Sebastian cocked an eyebrow at her. “What’s so wrong with me carrying my wife?” “Who the hell’s your wife? We got divorced ages ago!” Tamara’s expression grew cold. She struggled violently. Worried that he might end up dropping her, he conceded and finally put her down. Without turning back, Tamara got into the car. She instructed Joseph in a cold tone, “Joseph, shut the door!” Joseph turned toward Caleb. “Do you want to go back to Daddy?” Caleb looked at Sebastian with hope gleaming in his dark obsidian eyes. He wanted to stay with Mommy. Sebastian’s eyes darkened, but upon seeing the cold expression on Tamara’s face, he changed his mind. “Alright, I won’t take you home with me today.” Caleb smiled instantly and turned his bright eyes toward Tamara. When met with her son’s happy gaze, Tamara couldn’t maintain her cold composure. She smiled and pinched Caleb’s cheeks. “Tell me, have you done any vocal training recently?” After the month-long hospital stay, Tamara had finished treating Caleb ages ago, but the little boy was still a bit wary about speaking, so he had yet to say a single word. Caleb nodded, then opened his mouth. A moment later, he uttered with difficulty, “Mom…” Tamara blinked and encouraged him. “Come on, baby, you can do it!” Thomas and Melanie cheered their brother on as well. Thomas patted Caleb on the shoulder and exclaimed, “You can do it, lil’ bro!” Melanie said shyly, “Go Caleb!” Caleb flushed red at the support, but when he met Tamara’s gaze that was filled with encouragement, he started to feel determined. “Mommy…” Caleb shocked himself by saying that. He covered his mouth with both hands and looked up at Tamara with wide eyes. “My darling Caleb is such a smart boy!” Tamara hugged Caleb and kissed him on the cheek. “Come on, Caleb. Say ‘Mommy’ a few more times. I really like the sound of it.” Caleb blushed at that yet obeyed his mother obediently. Then, he started to speak more. His tone started to smooth out, and he managed to lose his stutter from before. Tamara kept encouraging him and threw him praises. Thomas and Melanie offered him support as well. Caleb started to gain confidence. By the time they reached the Moore manor, Caleb could already speak complete sentences. They entered the villa and saw Jonathan, Cheryl, and Old Mrs. Moore on the sofa. Tamara was surprised. “Uncle Jon, Aunt Cheryl, Grandma, what are you guys doing up so late?” Cheryl sighed. “Your grandmother wanted to wait for you. She couldn’t rest easy without seeing you back in one piece.” Tamara’s heart warmed. She burrowed into Old Mrs. Moore’s embrace and said, “I’m sorry for worrying you, Grandma.” Old Mrs. Moore patted her on the back. “Nonsense. Worrying over you is a given. Now that I know you’re back home safe and sound, I’m going to call it a day. I don’t think I can stay awake any longer. Help me to my room, would you?” Tamara said, “Hold on, Grandma.”
