Chapter 584 A Trainwreck
“What a trainwreck.” Margot whispered to herself, unable to summon up her appetite to eat.
Sebastian looked at James with amusement in his eyes. His handsome, charming face filled with mockery as he barked, “You want to date her? You don’t deserve her!”
His eyes shone with disdain.
There was no need to make any drastic comparisons.
The fact that James initially approached Tamara with an ulterior motive disqualified him from dating her.
James was taken aback. He said, “I won’t deny the horrible deed I’ve done in the past, but I’ll try my best to make up for everything eventually. Furthermore, now that I’ve ceased all contact with the Morrison family, I am not at all related to them anymore. From this day forth, no one will be able to pose a threat to me.”
After that, he turned toward Tamara. “That’s why you don’t need to worry. I’m currently a free man.”
Tamara was rendered speechless.
James’ confession was too sudden.
It made her want to run for the hills.
However, running away wasn’t an option.
She looked at James for a moment, then at Sebastian.
A while later, she said, “I won’t date either of you. Don’t waste your time and effort on me anymore.”
With that, she got up and made her way out the door.
“Tammy, wait for me!” Margot rushed to follow.
Sebastian’s handsome face darkened. He glared at James, his dark eyes glistening with coldness. “Do you honestly believe she has moved on from everything you’ve done to her in the past? You don’t deserve to date her, James Gladwell.”
James met his gaze without expressing any fear. His tone remained as calm as ever as he said, “President Custry, I might not be perfect in her eyes because of what I’ve done in the past, but you’re just the same. Why do you think you deserve to date her? If I’m not mistaken, you were the one who left her in the first place.”
James was sporting a gentle look, yet his words sounded provocative.
Sebastian didn’t get angry. Instead, he smiled and straightened up. Without a hint of warmth in his voice, he said, “We’ll see.”
…
Tamara walked out of the restaurant and took in the fresh air. She felt as if she had been reborn once more.
Margot couldn’t help but laugh. “I honestly didn’t expect James to confess to you.”
Tamara replied, “I really wish he hadn’t.”
Margot snorted. “So, what are you going to do? Are you going to consider dating either of them?”
“Nope.”
Tamara replied without hesitation.
She didn’t want to consider anything about her love life at all.
She only wanted to dedicate the rest of her life to her children.
Margot grabbed her arm. “Gosh, I wonder who insisted on clearing things up once she saw Sebastian in person. Didn’t you want to confront him about why he left you in the first place?”
Tamara poked Margot’s waist straight away, making Margot ticklish.
“Alright, I’m sorry. I’ll shut up now…”
Margot couldn’t take the assault anymore and pleaded.
Tamara pulled her hand back. “I wanted to hear his reasons before, but I don’t want to anymore.”
Margot inched closer. “May I venture a guess? You’re feeling aggrieved because he suddenly appeared without explaining anything to you, right? You want him to experience firsthand what it’s like to feel like yesterday’s trash, don’t you?”
Tamara looked at her friend. “You’re pretty smart.”
Margot opened the passenger car door for Tamara before climbing into the driver’s seat herself. “To be honest, I don’t think you’re being unfair. You have no reason to forgive him just like that, after all. You shouldn’t surrender yourself to that scumbag too easily.”
Tamara’s eyelashes fluttered. She didn’t say anything, nor did she deny it.
Those were her thoughts exactly.
Sebastian had yet to explain what made him leave her all those years ago. All he told her was that he wanted to pursue her! She did not want him to!
“Alright, let me take you somewhere to take your mind off everything,” Margot smirked, then drove them away.
