Margot tried to catch Tamara’s eyes, hoping her friend could save her from this hell on earth. Tamara’s clear eyes turned toward Sebastian. “President Custry, is something the matter?” Sebastian returned her gaze. The icy hostility in his eyes instantly disappeared, and in its place was nothing but gentleness. “Tammy, I didn’t think I’d run into you here.” Margot’s lips twitched. The man’s attitude had completely changed! Tamara’s face remained uninterested. “Neither did I. Nonetheless, we have no plans to share a table with you. You came with a friend, didn’t you? If that’s the case, it won’t be convenient. It would be best if we ate at different tables.” Sebastian was rendered silent. Emotions welled up in his chest uncontrollably. However, Sebastian’s handsome face remained neutral. He replied calmly, “He left.” Tamara was taken aback by that. She looked behind him and saw that Jeremiah had indeed disappeared. Tamara didn’t know what to say. The man had vanished in an instant! “Then shouldn’t you be leaving too, President Custry?” Sebastian rebuked, “But I haven’t eaten anything yet.” Tamara stayed silent. She couldn’t think of anything else to say to dissuade the man from joining them. James got up suddenly and said, “President Custry, why don’t you sit here? What would you like to eat? We can order more.” Sebastian did not spare James any of his attention. His gaze was still locked on Margot. Margot couldn’t take it anymore. “The air suddenly feels stuffy over here. Mr. Gladwell, why don’t I sit with you instead?” She got up and took the seat next to James right away. The hostility in Sebastian’s eyes disappeared in an instant. He took the seat next to Tamara accordingly. At this moment, the waiter began to serve them their food. Sebastian briefly looked at Tamara’s meal before telling the waiter, “I want what she’s having.” “Alright, sir. Please wait a moment.” The air at the table became a little tense all of a sudden. Too tired?” Tamara put her hands down. “No. I’m just hungry. I’m going to eat now.” With that, she started to dig into her meal. Sebastian’s thin lips curled into a small smile. He gazed at Tamara lovingly. Opposite them, James and Margot exchanged awkward glances and felt like spare parts. Margot whispered to James, “You’ve never seen him act like this before, have you?” James replied, “I haven’t.” Margot whispered, “Don’t worry, you’ll see him looking like this a lot. You’ll get used to it eventually.” James retorted, “But I don’t want to get used to it.” “What?” Margot was taken aback. James turned toward Sebastian and smiled gently. “President Custry, I’ve heard that you and Tamara got divorced a few years ago, right?” After that, the air around them seemed to grow even more tense. Margot looked at James as if he had lost his marbles. “Are you crazy?” James simply smiled warmly as if oblivious to the sudden chill in the air. “I just think that since Tamara is already single, don’t other men deserve a chance to pursue her, just like you are?” Tamara was stunned. She stared at James with a confused expression on her face. What on earth was he saying? Sebastian’s handsome face immediately darkened. His dark eyes filled with hostility as he glared coldly at James. “You want to date her?” James nodded. “Yeah. I fancy Tamara. I’ve fancied her for quite some time already.” After that, he turned toward Tamara. “To be honest, I started fancying you four years ago, but you hadn’t been single then. Furthermore, you were in danger, so I had to keep those feelings to myself. But now, it feels like the right time to come clean. Tamara, may I be granted an opportunity to pursue you?”
