Chapter 586 Horse Racing

Tamara merely smiled. “No need. Say, why don’t you make a bet, President Custry?” “What bet? Do tell.” Sebastian focused all his attention on her. “Why don’t we race on horses? If you win, I’ll agree to let you pursue me, but if I win, you’re required to stay as far away from me as possible,” Tamara stated her terms. “So, what do you think?” Sebastian quirked a brow at her. “Are you sure?” She nodded. “Absolutely. It’s not like I can avoid you forever, can I? Why don’t we just get it over with once and for all?” Sebastian chuckled lowly, then nodded. “Alright, let’s race.” Tamara held onto her horse’s reins and watched Sebastian pick a horse for himself. They went to the starting line and got onto their horses. When everyone saw that Tamara and Sebastian were about to race, they gathered around to watch. “Go, Tammy!” Margot cheered on from the sidelines. “Go, President Custry!” Randy cheered as well. Everyone watched Sebastian with eager eyes. It was a rare opportunity, after all. They wanted to make the most of it, so they gathered to cheer him on. Since Margot was the only person cheering for Tamara, it appeared somewhat pathetic. Even so, Tamara did not mind. She tightened her grip on the reins. She clamped her legs around the horse’s body when the race began. The horse bolted forward with a loud neigh. The race track was huge. Once the contestants made one lap around, it signified the end of the race. Tamara was incredibly focused. She tightened her grip on her horse’s reins as the strong wind blew hair over her face. Her grin widened as time went on. She loved this feeling. However, when she noticed that Sebastian was close to overtaking her, she pursed her lips and pulled on the reins to speed up. Feeling pained, the horse quickened its pace. The horse was running at lightning speed. Tamara felt like she would be thrown off of it any second. Tamara pursed her lips. She peered over her shoulder at Sebastian, who appeared to be riding his horse with ease. He didn’t seem to be making much of an effort to catch up to her. Tamara was dissatisfied. She was aware that going any faster would cause her to lose control. The race track was huge, but they reached the end quickly on horseback. Sebastian’s thin lips curled into a smile when he noticed Tamara’s tense expression. He eased up on the reins to get his horse to slow down a little. Tamara was still pushing forward. Suddenly, she found that the man was nowhere in sight. In her shock, she turned back to look and saw that Sebastian had lagged a significant distance behind. She managed to overtake him. She turned back to the front and saw that the finishing line was a few feet away. Tamara pursed her beautiful lips, then pulled on the horse’s reins all of a sudden, causing the horse to come to a complete stop. The horse jerked back violently, then let out a loud neigh. Tamara still had a tight grip on the horse’s reins, but when the horse jerked back, it caused one of her thighs to slip. Unable to get a proper clamp around the horse’s body, she started to fall off the horse! “Tammy!” Margot shrieked out. Tamara felt her world turn upside down. Her body seemed out of her control as she tried to comprehend what was happening with wide eyes. A pair of arms enveloped her, pulling her into an embrace just as she was about to faceplant onto the ground. Then a loud groan could be heard. Tamara looked at Sebastian with wide eyes. She had landed on the man’s body. Sebastian had cushioned her from the hard ground. “Are you okay?” Tamara hurriedly got up and checked him all over for injuries. Sebastian lay on the ground, panting heavily. When he saw the worried lines on her face, he asked softly, “Why did you stop so suddenly?” Hearing that, Tamara seemed taken aback. Something twinkled in her crystal-clear eyes. Then, she suddenly stood up.
