Chapter 590 Restart
Tamara answered, “Margot’s still at the horse racing track.”
Joseph glanced at the expensive watch on his wrist. “I’ll go get her. It’s not safe for a woman to be out there all by herself.”
Tamara took note of Joseph’s concern and couldn’t help but ask, “What if she doesn’t want to come back with you?”
Joseph was silent for a moment. “I’ll keep her company at the racetracks.”
Tamara didn’t know what to say.
Her cousin was really stubborn.
Tamara inched closer to him and said, “Joseph, do you want a word of advice?”
Joseph replied, “Nope. I don’t want to hear it.”
Tamara could do nothing after that.
Joseph spun on his heel and left. She hadn’t even gotten a chance to get another word out.
Tamara let out a helpless sigh without meaning to, then turned to see Cheryl and Jonathan staring at her.
“Uncle Jon, Aunt Cheryl, what’s wrong?”
Why were they staring at her like that?
“Tammy, could you come over for a second?” Jonathan called Tamara over to him sternly.
Tamara held Melanie’s hand in hers and sat on the sofa. She regarded Jonathan curiously and asked, “What is it, Uncle Jon?”
Jonathan regarded her stoically and asked, “Tell me the truth. Does your friend fancy Joseph?”
Tamara stared at him wordlessly.
Cheryl interjected, “Isn’t it obvious?”
“Uncle Jon and Aunt Cheryl, you should intervene and dissuade him. Margot is in love with someone else.” Tamara let out a sigh.
Jonathan exclaimed, “God, why is my son such a loser? So much time has passed, and he still can’t score a date with her? Did he even inherit any of my genes?”
Hearing that, Tamara was taken aback. Shouldn’t he be dissuading Joseph instead?
Judging by what Uncle Jon had just said, it seemed like he had identified the wrong issue.
Cheryl piped up, “Tammy, could you give me more information about your friend? What are her likes and dislikes? I’ll make a note of everything and send it to Joseph later.”
“Now hold on…”
Tamara was stunned. She stared at Jonathan and Cheryl in disbelief.
After learning that Margot already fancied someone else, shouldn’t they discourage Joseph from pursuing her?
Why were they trying to get more information on Margot?
She couldn’t understand them.
When Cheryl saw how confused Tamara looked, she smiled. “Tammy, your uncle and I are open-minded people. We don’t care about anyone’s family background. Our only responsibility as elders is to raise our four sons. As for how they want to spend their lives, we believe they have the right to make their own choices. We’ll support them as long as they don’t go overboard with anything.”
Jonathan nodded. “Your aunt’s right. Joseph fancying after your friend isn’t a big deal to us. Since he likes her, he’s free to pursue her if he wants to. If he succeeds, he only has himself to thank. If he fails, he can just take it as a learning experience. That’s why we’re fully supporting him instead of stopping him.”
Tamara remained silent for a moment. She knew that her uncle and aunt were open-minded people and weren’t keen on meddling with their children’s matters. She didn’t expect them to have such a thought process.
She smiled. “Uncle Jon, Aunt Cheryl, I suppose you guys are right. Alright, I’ll lend him a helping hand.”
Jonathan and Cheryl nodded. Then, the three of them started to record Margot’s preferences.
…
After coaxing her two kids to sleep, Tamara returned to her room.
She stood on the balcony and looked up at the starry sky. Suddenly, her mind supplied her with an image of the fireworks display Sebastian had set up just for her.
The words read, “Tammy Moore, I love you.”
Tamara’s lips curled into a gleeful smile. It felt as if her heart had been restarted as it pounded wildly in her chest.
It was the next morning.
Just as Tamara got up, a maid knocked on her door. “Miss Moore, two men are asking to meet with you outside.”
“Two men?” Tamara thought.
