Chapter 96
At 4 PM, Margaret stepped out of the car in an elegant, classy suit. The secretary welcomed her respectfully and led her straight to the CEO's office at Harding Corp.
William was lounging on the couch, going over some documents full of charts and English notes.
“Mr. Harding, your mother’s here,” the assistant said.
With a cigarette in his mouth and pen flying over paper, William didn’t even look up. “Make her a coffee. Milk, no sugar.”
The assistant left. Margaret walked in.
“Sit anywhere,” he said casually. Papers covered the coffee table, and the dark leather couch set off his sharp features. “What brings you here?”
Margaret took the seat across from him. Seeing he was busy, she said, “You carry on.”
“Just talk,” he replied without looking away from the file. “I’ve got a full plate today. Still need to check on the kid tonight.”
“A kid?” Margaret looked confused. “Whose kid?”
He sounded like it was obvious. “Mine and Elsie's, of course.”
