62. Red Moon's Whisper

Elara’s words were meant to comfort me, but they only deepened the ache in my chest. What if my mate existed but didn’t want to find me? What if I was destined to be alone, to live a life without the connection I had always dreamed of? The thought was unbearable, and I felt tears prick at the corners of my eyes, threatening to spill over.
I turned away from Elara, my gaze drifting to the grand hall around us. The room was alive with music and laughter, the dancers swirling in a kaleidoscope of color and movement.
