Chapter 134
Third Person POV
Maurene finished her cigarette outside the restaurant and calmly crushed it beneath her heel before walking back inside. By then, Elena and Alpha Eric were gone. The atmosphere had shifted. Conversations nearby had thinned, replaced by curious glances and poorly hidden judgment. The guards hovered close, clearly expecting her to leave but Maurene acted as though the entire place belonged to her.
She slid back into her chair, ordered the restaurant’s signature steak, and requested the most expensive wine without even glancing at the menu. She ate slowly, savoring every bite, enjoying the silence she’d caused. When she was done, she dabbed her lips, rose gracefully, and handed the waiter a satisfied smile.,“Put it on Alpha Eric’s tab.”
Then she walked out as if nothing in the world could touch her.
